Acute pain & inflammation, Chronic musculo-skeletal pain, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Acute pain associated with dental surgery, Acute gouty arthritis, Primary dysmenorrhoea and Ankylosing spondylitis.
Adult and adolescent (over 16 years):
¨ Osteoarthritis,Chronic musculo-skeletal pain,
Dysmenorrhoea: 60 mg once daily
¨ Rheumatoid arthritis, Ankylosing spondylitis: 90 mg
once daily
¨ Acute pain associated with dental surgery and Acute
gouty arthritis: 120 mg once daily
Safety and effectiveness of etoricoxib in paediatric patients have not been established.
Warfarin, ACE inhibitor, Rifampicin, Lithium, Birth control pills, Methotrexate and Digoxin may be affected by Etoricoxib.
Patients with known hypersensitivity to Etoricoxib or to any of the excipients of this medicinal product. Active peptic ulceration or gastro-intestinal (Gl) bleeding, severe hepatic dysfunction.
Children and adolescents under 16 years of age.
Patients with inflammatory bowel disease and severe congestive heart failure.
Common side effects are dizziness, headache, gastrointestinal disorders (e.g. abdominal pain, flatulence, heartburn), diarrhoea, dyspepsia, nausea, asthenia, fatigue, flu-like symptoms. Rare side effects are oedema, weight gain, anxiety, blurred vision, hypertension, epistaxis, dyspnoea, constipation, vomiting, muscle cramps and chest pain.
Not recommended.
Decreased kidney function and liver function, dehydration, hypertension, history of heart failure, perforation and people over 65 years of age.
