TYDIN 250 capsule : Each capsule contains Cephradine BP 250 mg.
TYDIN 500 capsule  : Each capsule contains Cephradine BP 500 mg.
TYDIN Powder for Suspension : When reconstituted each 5ml suspension contains Cephradine BP 125 mg.
TYDIN DS Powder for Suspension : When reconstituted each 5 ml suspension contains Cephradine BP 250 mg.
TYDIN Paediatric drops : When reconstituted each 1.25 ml contains Cephradine BP 125 mg.

Indications

Cephradine is indicated in the treatment of following infections caused by sensitive organisms: 
Upper respiratory tract infections : Pharyngitis, Sinusitis, Otitis media, Tonsillitis, Laryngo-tracheo bronchitis.
Lower respiratory tract infections : Acute & chronic bronchitis, Lobar and Bronchopneumonia.
Urinary tract infections : Cystitis, Urethritis, Pyelonephritis, Bacteriuria.
Skin and soft tissue infections : Abscess, Cellulitis, Furunculosis, Impetigo.
Gastrointestinal tract infections : Bacillary dysentery, Enteritis, Peritonitis.
As surgical prophylaxis.

Dosage

Adult : 250-500 mg every 6 hours or 0.5-1 g every 12 hours.
Child : 25-50 mg/kg daily in divided doses.

Contraindications

It should not be used in those patients who are hypersensitive to cephalosporin antibiotic.

Side Effects

Adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort. Allergic reactions include skin rashes, urticaria, eosinophilia, angioedema and anaphylaxis may occur and rise in liver enzyme values have been noted. Neutropenia has been reported. There is the possibility of development of pseudomembranous colitis.

Precautions & Warnings

Cephradine should be used with caution in those patients who are hypersensitive to penicillins.
