ZINCOL Syrup: Each 5 ml syrup contains Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate USP equivalent to elemental Zinc 10 mg.
ZINCOL syrup is indicated for growth retardation, respiratory tract infections, diarrhoea, dermatitis, impaired immunological response, acrodermatitis enteropathica, psychological disturbances, defective and delayed wound healing, impaired spermatogenesis, night blindness, congenital malabsorption and many other complications.
Dosage & Administration:
Children under 10 kg body weight: 1 - 2 teaspoonful daily in divided doses.
Children over 10 kg body weight: 2 teaspoonfuls 1 - 3 times daily.
Adult & Children over 30 kg body weight: 4 teaspoonfuls 1 - 3 times daily after food.
Side effects are mild abdominal pain, dyspepsia, gastric ulcer, pancreatitis, fever, nausea and pulmonary fibrosis.
Concurrent administration of Zinc salt with Penicillamine might diminish the effect of Penicillamine. The absorption of Zinc, although poor, may be decreased by various compounds including some foods. Chelation may occur with tetracyclines.
It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Zinc.
