TYBAC containing Neomycin Sulphate and Bacitracin Zinc has broad spectrum activity. TYBAC is active against many gram-positive organism including some penicillin resistant bacteria and it is also active against many aerobic gram negative bacteria.
TYBAC powder is for topical use in mixed infection of the skin and mucous membrane due to susceptible organism, It is specially useful where the drying effect of a powder is desirable and in the treatment of suppurating of serous discharging lesion, infected ulcers, moist of oozing lesions and intertriginous areas. TYBAC activity is not impaired by blood, pus or necrotic tissue.
Each gram TYBAC powder contains Neomycin Sulphate BP 5 mg and Bacitracin Zinc BP 4.18 mg (250 units, 1 gm=60 units)
TYBAC is indicated in the treatment of topical bacterial infection. It is particularly effective in atopic, contact stasis and infections, eczematoid dermatitis, neurodermatitis, eczema, anogenital pruritus.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
A light dusting of the powder to be applied to the affected skin area upto 4 times daily.
TYBAC is contraindicated in those individuals who have shown hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Because of the potential hazard or nephrotoxicity due to neomycin, care should be taken when using this product in treating extensive burns, tropic ulceration and other extensive conditions where absorption of neomycin is possible. As with any antibiotic preparation, prolonged use may result in the over growth of non-susceptible organism including fungi.
Articles in the current medical literature indicate an increase in the prevalence of persons allergic to neomycin. The possibility of such reactions should be taken into consideration.
